Joe Siracusa

Principal
Founder and principal Joe Siracusa is a solicitor who has held senior legal positions with national law firms in Canberra, Brisbane and Sydney, as well as with the Queensland Department of Justice and Attorney-General, receiving an Australia Day Achievement Medallion for his work with that department. Before establishing Siracusa Legal, Joe was a partner in a Brisbane-based commercial law firm. Joe was first admitted as a lawyer in 1995. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
In these roles Joe gained experience acting for a wide range of clients, including Australian and foreign companies, Commonwealth, Queensland and New South Wales government departments and agencies, universities and not-for-profit organisations. He has also acted as in-house counsel, on secondment, to a leading Australian telecommunications company and to a major Queensland energy company.
Joe is the chair of the Queensland Law Society's Ethics Advisory Committee, a member of the Advisory Council of the Centre for Public, International and Comparative Law at The University of Queensland, member of the Privacy, Data, Technology and IP Law Committee of the Queensland Law Society, member of the Intellectual Property Society of Australia and New Zealand (IPSANZ) and a former member of the Queensland Council of the Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) and former co-chair of the AIIA's national Legal Network. 
Joe has also been a sessional academic in law at the Queensland University of Technology, The University of Queensland and Griffith University.
